Creating a custom piece with Oxbow is a personalized experience where we work closely together to bring your vision to life. Projects may include designing your dream engagement ring or wedding bands, personalizing a piece from an existing collection, or creating something entirely unique.
Each custom project begins with a conversation. Fill out the inquiry form below and share as much detail as you'd like, including inspiration images, sketches, existing pieces, or anything else that helps us understand your vision.
Custom projects outside of existing collections have a $2,500 minimum. If your project feels like a good fit for Oxbow, we will follow up with next steps. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin custom work.
The typical timeline for custom projects is approximately 8–10 weeks, depending on the scope and complexity of the piece.

What is your price range for a custom piece?
Custom projects outside of our existing collections have a $2,500 minimum.
The final price will depend on the design, materials, gemstones, size, and complexity of the piece.
If you are customizing an existing Oxbow piece, prices will start at a $650 minimum and vary based on the piece selected and customization details.
Can I customize an existing Oxbow design?
Yes. We can often make changes to an existing design, such as adjusting proportions, changing gemstones or metal, modifying dimensions, or making other personalizations.
How does the custom process work?
1. Inquiry: Start by filling out the form below with details about your project, budget, timeline, and inspiration.
2. Conversation: We will review your inquiry and follow up if the project feels like a good fit.
3. Design & Quote: We'll discuss the details of your piece and develop the design and pricing.
4. Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin the project.
5. Creation: Once the design is approved, we'll move forward with creating your piece.
Can I provide my own gemstones or jewelry?
We’re happy to discuss heirloom jewelry or gemstones that have sentimental significance. These projects are considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the condition and suitability of the materials.
Please keep in mind that providing your own stone does not lower the cost of a custom piece, as our pricing reflects the design, craftsmanship, labor, setting, and other materials involved in creating your piece.
What metals and gemstones do you work with?
We primarily work with 14k gold and higher karat weights. If you have a specific metal or karat in mind, please include it in your inquiry and we’ll discuss what may be possible on a case-by-case basis
We focus on natural gemstones and diamonds, which we love for their natural variations.
How long does a custom project take?
Our typical timeline for custom projects is approximately 8–10 weeks.
Timing can vary depending on the complexity of the project, sourcing of materials or gemstones, and the speed of design approvals. If you have a specific date you're working toward, please include it in your inquiry and we'll let you know what may be possible.
How many changes can I make to my design?
Custom design is a collaborative process, and we'll work together to make sure the direction feels right before production begins.
The number of design revisions will depend on the scope of your project. Significant changes after a design has been approved may result in additional costs or changes to the timeline.
How does payment work?
A payment link will be sent once the design is finalized. For custom pieces outside of our existing collection a 50% non-refundable deposit is required before custom work begins. The remaining balance will be due when your piece is ready to ship.
Because custom pieces are made specifically for you, custom orders are non-refundable once production has begun.
What if I don't know my ring size?
Don't worry, we can help you determine the appropriate size before production. If you're unsure of your ring size, let us know in your inquiry and we'll guide you through the best way to get an accurate measurement.
Can I order a custom piece as a gift?
Absolutely. If you're creating a piece as a gift and don't know the recipient's exact size or preferences, tell us as much as you know. We can help you determine the best way to approach the project.
